Asked by Peter Maurer

I am using XP. I want to partition my harddrive and use ubuntu on one side and xp on the other. The Fox web site noted that you have reliable partitioning software. Is it part of the download? Is it easy?

You could use GParted which comes with Ubuntu LiveCD installer to partition your hard disk drive.

Dear Ian,

Thanks for your help.

Please tell me what item you are referring to so I can order it: LiveCD installer.  Model #? Order#?

Will GParted work on an Acer Aspire 3100 Series that already has a partitioned hard drive for back-up?

Regards, Peter

GParted comes on the Ubuntu LiveCD. You can also grab it as a stand alone .iso CD image.

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

It's designed to be able to work on any hardware. You simply download the .iso and burn it to a CD. If you can't download and birn the disk, they offer an option to order the disk.

Can you help with this problem?
