Bug Control members no longer allowed in +edit-packaging?

Asked by Adolfo Jayme Barrientos

I am a member of Ubuntu Bug Control.

I visited https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/noble/+source/xz-utils/+edit-packaging to remove the misleading, wrong linkage to an unrelated LP upstream project, and was surprised to find out that I’m no longer allowed in that page.

Was it an intentional change?

I don't have permissions to that package, but I asked someone who might know whether this was intentional. I'll get back to you once I know more information

The answers I received is that nothing was intentionally changed.

I didn't manage to further investigate on this this week.
Did you get any further understanding about this in the past few days? If the issue persists, we need to look into it next week

Thanks for looking into it, Ines!

All I wanted to do is fix a couple of upstream links. Someone mistakenly linked this project’s [1] dependencies as packages, and one used to be able to click on little red icons next to each distro series to delete the upstream links. The icons are no longer there. In any case, this is just minor Launchpad cleanup, nothing crucially important.

I see. I am able to remove the `xy-utils` Linked packages there. Should I do that?

Can you help with this problem?
