Blocking all future posts to Yade Answers forum

Hello,

I am with the Yade team https://answers.launchpad.net/yade. We are looking for a way to block all new questions to the https://answers.launchpad.net/yade forum, but at the same time, we want to keep the forum available and exposed to the web as an archive.

Is this possible? I see we have the option of "Configuring Answers" where we can select from;

Type of service for answers application:
 Unknown
 Launchpad
 External
 Not Applicable

If we change this to "external" will it close down our launchpad Answers and delete all the contents? Or will the forum remain exposed to the web?

Hi Rob,

If you change that configuration to "external", all the Answers will remain reachable but I'm afraid they wouldn't be listed in https://answers.launchpad.net/yade (they would only be reachable via link). The questions/answers themselves will not be deleted.

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a way to block new answers while keeping the listing. I would suggest filling a bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad) asking for that feature to be added.
