Asked by Emilia Torino

Is it possible to grant upload permissions to individuals/teams to an existing PPA without making them part of the ppa-owning team?

It's obscure and doesn't show up in the web UI, but yes, you can, using the `edit-acl` tool in `ubuntu-archive-tools`. Something like:

  edit-acl -A ppa:OWNER/ubuntu/ARCHIVE -p PERSON -c main -t upload add

Emilia, once you confirmed this is working as expected, could you please report back? I'd like to add this to our documentation ( https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/PPA ).

Thank you!

Hi Jürgen,
this is working well for PPAs.

Well I could grant the ACL, we haven't had security exercise their upload rights yet.
But believing in the greater good I want to believe that I already can call it ok.

So yes, please add a hint there
