$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thierry-f/fork-michael-gruz yields E: The repository 'https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/michael-gruz/canon/ubuntu jammy Release' does not have a Release file.

Asked by William T. Lowther

I have Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. My printer is a Canon Pixma TS6420a.
The command $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thierry-f/fork-michael-gruz yields the following:
E: The repository 'https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/michael-gruz/canon/ubuntu jammy Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
According to Synaptic Package manager cnijfilter2 is installed with version 6.30-4+2204. But when I add a printer(s), I do not see the driver cnijfilter2 for any printer. The only driver that is found that works is Canon TS6400 series Ver.6.10
     Am I doing something wrong?
TIA,
Bill

see https://launchpad.net/~michael-gruz/+archive/ubuntu/canon

That PPA does not provide any software for Ubuntu jammy and so it cannot be added on a jammy system.
(Yes, the error message that is shown in such case is not really helpful.)

If you have further questions to that PPA, then you have to ask the person responsible for that PPA (see "For questions and bugs with software in this PPA please contact Michael" on the page linked above.
