Enable dep-11 metadata

Hi!

Is there a way to enable dep-11 metadata on the PPAs? The official repos include this data, but it is not generated/present on the PPAs.

Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible.

Right at the moment I work on enabling distributing OVAL data for PPAs, which has some overlap with above requested feature.

What we definitely would still need is a generator for the data.

Could you please convert this question into a bug report (feature request), see "Create bug report".

I will then reach out to the Desktop team, who possible maintains the generator for the official repos.

Please note, I cannot give you any guarantee if and when we could put this on our roadmap.

I have created the following bug: #2012296 Enable dep-11 metadata on PPAs.

Do you know how I can generate this metadata myself? Let's say, if I wanted to host my own repo.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to generate metadata. I will have a look whether the involved tooling is open source and will follow-up on the bug report.
