Is it possible to use i18n.pl to create a xx.lang from xx.po?

Asked by Fidelis Assis

Hi, I'd like to test an updated .po before uploading it and read that the .lang perhaps couild be created with the Perl script i18n.pl.
Is that true? If yes, is there an example how to do it?

Regards,.

Hi,

Can you provide more details about the i18n.pl script and how it is related to Launchpad? If it is external to Launchpad, I am not sure we will be able to help you with it. You may have to contact the script's author(s)/maintainer(s) for any help.

Hi Guruprasad,

That script is referenced at https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Translations

"Changes made in Launchpad will be imported into JOSM for all languages which are already in JOSM. ..."
[...]
The Perl script i18n.pl must be called with a destination directory and the .po files to create translation data.

Hi,

As far as I can see, the 'i18n.pl' script (https://josm.openstreetmap.de/browser/osm/applications/editors/josm/i18n/i18n.pl) is maintained by the josm team and not Launchpad. So I would recommend getting in touch with the authors/maintainers of the script.

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying that. I'll ask them.
