Change username after deleting PPA

I deleted the only PPA that I have, but I still cannot change my username. I would like to change it from tommoyer to tom-tom

How do I go about doing this, since I think I deleted my PPA correctly

Can you please elaborate why you cannot change your user name? Do you see an error message?

It appears that it just took time for the public PPA to be fully removed. I was able to change my username when I checked again tonight.
