Not all binaries are removed after deleting EOL series

Asked by Jhonny Oliveira

Hi!

I recently deleted the Impish series to free up some space. The great majority of the associated binaries were removed immediately or soon after. However, a few are still lingering around:

Jhonny,

I am sorry that you run in that kind of edge case.

Before I give you some advice on how you can delete those packages yourself, let me quickly explain what you ran into.

Let's have a look at one of the packages, for example the `stuntrally` package.

When you go to the overview ( https://launchpad.net/~xtradeb/+archive/ubuntu/play/+packages?field.name_filter=stuntrally&field.status_filter=&field.series_filter= ), and have a look at the details of `stuntrally - 2.6.1-1~xtradeb3hirsute1`, which was copied into Impish, you will notice that the source package `stuntrally 2.6.1-1~xtradeb3hirsute1` was superseded, but its binary packages weren't because the source package that superseded that version failed to build, also cf. the detailed view of `stuntrally - 2.6.2-1~xtradeb1impish1`.

Unfortunately, this edge case is not well visualized on the default package details view.

Let me show you how you can delete the packages yourself:
- go to your PPA
- on the right hand side, click on "View package details"
- on the right hand side, click on "Delete packages"
- (optionally filter by package name)
- select the packages you want to delete, and press the "Request Deletion" button

Once again, sorry for the confusion.
