can not set package for bug report

Asked by estellnb

I would like to set the package for bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1857347
to
https://launchpad.net/~estellnb/+archive/ubuntu/elstel/+build/23606240
.

However I can not find xchroot-2.7.4-7 neither under distribution/Ubuntu nor under projects. If I type the package name manually and want to change the package for the bug report it gives an error message, 'package not found'.
What can I do?

see https://packaging.ubuntu.com/singlehtml/index.html#submitting-for-inclusion and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages

The preferred way is adding the new software to Debian first, with Ubuntu following later.

And for your current problem: Only software packages that are already existing in the Ubuntu repositories can be selected as bug target.
The "not filed about a specific source package" bot comment is not valid in your case. I was triggered because the "needs-packaging" tag was missing at that time.

Can you help with this problem?
