Please increase my permissions for PRoot package

Asked by Lucas Ramage

I reached out to the current maintainer but I haven't heard anything back.

I need to update the PRoot package in Ubuntu to the latest v5.3.0 release.

I'm afraid this is not something that Launchpad staff are allowed to do for you. Ubuntu manages its own upload permissions via its Developer Membership Board, and you'd have to apply there for upload permissions. See:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopers
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopers#PerPackage
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DeveloperMembershipBoard

However, you'd normally start by requesting sponsorship for an upload:

I also notice that the proot package is currently synced unmodified from Debian, so the action that would do the most good for most people would be to get it updated in Debian unstable, and then that will flow through to Ubuntu. See:

  https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/

Alright, thank you for the links. I'll try both routes and see what I can do.

Thanks!
