could acess klaus-vormweg repositories

Asked by Ivo Petiz

I'm having an error ID OOPS-79ec6a16c41ec7bc16db3c0fc895b9e2 when I try to access this page:
https://launchpad.net/~klaus-vormweg

I'm using packages from awesomeWM just available here and it would be great if you could help me.

Thanks for your time

The account for `~klaus-vormweg` does no longer exist, and so the ppa.

I would recommend to head over to the project and either ask for another ppa, or build the package from source, see https://github.com/awesomeWM/awesome#debian-based

I' didn't find anything more about the project on the internet and the official repository doesn't support Ubuntu 16.04, which is what I need. Tried to build from source but the package has some dependencies in the same situation, without support to 16.04.

Is there any kind of backup or more info about the author I can have access to? Thanks

I can't give you a lot of information (since we don't have very much ourselves), but from the way in which the account was closed I believe that the author has died. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Quick follow-up - the PPAs owned by that user actually still exist, e.g.:

  http://ppa.launchpad.net/klaus-vormweg/awesome/ubuntu/

And they're accessible in the Launchpad UI here, as long as you know the PPA name:

  https://launchpad.net/~klaus-vormweg-deactivatedaccount/+archive/ubuntu/awesome

So it would be possible for somebody else to continue his work by copying packages from there to an active user's PPA.
