Can't create milestones for an Ubuntu series

Asked by Brian Murray

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/focal/+milestones says "Milestones belong to a series and can be created from the series page by a project owner or series release manager."

I haven't heard the term series release manager before but I'd think that the Release manager (ubuntu-release of which I am member) would be considered a series release manager. However, when I visit https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/focal/+addmilestone I get a "Not allowed here" message.

How can ubuntu-release be given the power to add milestones?

I haven't heard anything about why I can't add milestones.

Hi Brian,

Distribution series are treated differently which means that editions to them, in this case, adding a milestone, are pretty restricted. Under that situation, only distro owners will be able to perform that operation.

We have this bug to get this more flexible in the future: https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1901178

Can you help with this problem?
