Hi Shane,

I'll take care of your request.

In the meantime, could you please try to get some backing from at least one of the current members of the team -> https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ie/+members#active? Simply an answer from them to this thread will do.

If you cannot contact any of them, let me know and we'll find another way.

I'm Rory McCann, and I'm active in the Ubuntu Ireland LoCo Team, since my knowledge of the Irish Language is poor, I have not contributed a lot to the translation effort. Shane is also quite active in the LoCo and, from his Launchpad Karma, has is obviously a keen ubuntu contributor. If he's willing to step up and help this, then he should get the post.

Hi David,

So I have the support of one of the group members. I have some ideas to get more contribution for Irish translations.

Hi Shane,

You are now the owner of the Irish team at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ie, and as such should be able to approve new members.

Additionally, I would recommend you to:

* Subscribe to the ubuntu-translators mailing list in order to be kept up-to-date with everything related to Ubuntu translations -> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

* Set up a mailing list for coordinating your team (You can do it directly on Launchpad, on your team's page -> https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ie)

* Add a link to the guidelines used for translating into Irish -> https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/+groups/ubuntu-translators/ie/+edit

If you've got any questions on translating Ubuntu feel free to ask me or on the ubuntu-translators mailing list, where other community members will also be able to help you.

Welcome to Ubuntu translations!

Regards,
David.
