Don't repeat the same translation twice

Asked by Vilson Gjeci

I am trying to translate some Ubuntu packages in Albanian, and my question is simple: Is there a way that the translations that have been confirmed as genuine can be added automatically to all the packages that have the same words in translation?

No, because there would be a lot of problems with that. We are just implementing a feature which will make that happen automatically wherever it's safe to do so (i.e. across different versions of the same package), but in many cases, you simply can't do that (i.e. imagine word "File" and it's translations: it can be a verb — "to file" — or a noun — "a file" — and those might be translated differently).

Still, we do show such translations as suggestions from across the system, so it's easy to reuse them.
