http response 307 for a mirror

Asked by Rogier van Eeten on 2020-03-11

We're testing our new CDN platform with our mirror. This will generate a http 307 towards an edge node. I've tested this with various distro's and that all works. However, the mirror tester doesn't like that.

The mirror tester from Debian does work with the 307.

I've got a few options to fix this:
1) Would it be possible to check a different host then that's in the mirror list? That way the url can stay the same, but you can check our origin server
2) Would it be possible to accept and follow a 307?

Thanks in advance

If you're asking for a software change, please use the "Create bug report" link here - questions aren't a good way to track software change requests, since they expire after a relatively short period of time. We use them for support requests that don't involve software changes.

It would be helpful if you could point to the Debian mirror tester we're using. The last time I adjusted our status code handling I tried to align it with apt's behaviour, but it's possible I missed something.

Thanks Colin Watson, that solved my question.
