Reactivating account

Asked by Gregory

Hello,

I haven't been using my account for at least two years. Today I've logged in and in the username section there is a name "-deactivatedaccount". I tried to delete the string but it says that my login has been already used. What I understand is that my profile has been disabled and because my account has been automatically disabled other user assign my username. Which means that I have to recreate my account, especially the username, am I right?

Our logs show that you deactivated the account yourself in 2016, and the "-deactivated" suffix was added at that point.

It does indeed appear that somebody else has claimed the "cooky" username in the meantime (not on Launchpad directly, but on another system that shares its username namespace with Launchpad). Recreating your account is not necessary and will not help; but you're free to rename it to something else.
