Why isn't the username deanosim available?

I've tried changing to it but it says it's taken, So I tried to merge it but it just gives me an error like the account doesn't exist, and I can't find any trace of deanosim when I look for ssh keys or a profile I can't find anything https://launchpad.net/~deanosim
So something funny is going on.
Can you help?
