Launchpad.net not reachable over IPv6

On IPv6-only hosts, launchpad currently cannot be used due to lack of IPv6, e.g.:

$ sudo /usr/bin/add-apt-repository -y ppa:ondrej/php
Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:~ondrej/ubuntu/php'.
ERROR: '~ondrej' user or team does not exist.

If at all possible, it would be nice if a AAAA record could be added for launchpad.net.

There's already a quite old bug report about that issue, Bug #776040
The last comment indicates that this might finally be done before the end of this year..

Thanks for the reply. While searching for this I didn't stumble upon that issue, but also couldn't fathom there wasn't such an issue yet.
