Choose affected product page is missing

Asked by madbiologist

I was trying to add an upstream bug report to https://bugs.launchpad.net/poppler/+bug/993292/ by clicking that page's "Also affects project" link. I received a page that says, in part "Lost something? This page does not exist, or you may not have permission to see it. " with error ID OOPS-3655dd60b1bcbb9f45695ec432b5e6e5.

It looks like you deleted the poppler bug task, and then (while still on /poppler/+bug/993292) clicked on "Also affects product", which went to /poppler/+bug/993292/+choose-affected-product, which 404s. If you had reloaded the page, then it would have redirected you to /ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/993292, and then the "Also affects product" link would work. We don't redirect subtrees of non-existent bug tasks, because they can sometimes be operations that are supposed to be specific to a task (e.g. +delete), and redirecting those could easily result in mistakes.

Seeing an OOPS is by definition a bug, though. Fixing bug 540312 would avoid the problem, though I think it would be worthwhile for you to file a more specific bug detailing what went wrong here, as it's possible that we could fix this in some more specific way.

Ok, so the error was my fault.

Having tried again, using the default selection of "I have the URL for the upstream bug:" and attempting to add https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/issues/136 , I now get "⛔ Launchpad does not recognize the bug tracker at this URL."

Well, only sort of your fault. As I said, OOPSes are by definition bugs.

I'm afraid we don't support GitLab watches yet. That's bug 1603679.

Can you help with this problem?
