transfer ownership of a project

Asked by Duane Hinnen

The Ubuntu Forums Beginners Team needs a projects ownership to be transferred. The current owner is no longer available and has been missing since August of '08. We held out in hopes of his return but it looks unlikely. All attempts to contact him by multiple parties have been met with silence. We fear the worse because he was a very active member. We would like to attempt to pick up the pieces from losing such a valuable member and move forward with the project. The project Best of the Ubuntu Community Forums Tutorials now has Old_Solider as the owner. The new lead for the project will be duanedesign.

Project (Best of the Ubuntu Community Forums Tutorials): https://launchpad.net/boucft
current Maintainer: Old_Solider
new project manager: duanedesign

Hi,

Is Old_Soldier the person you're having trouble contacting? I see on his karma page that he answered a question on the 3rd of April. Is it possible that he's now active again?

Matthew.

Found where that came from.

looks like it was someone marking a question solved that he had provided input on in September of last year.

Everybody in the beginners team has tried relentlessly to contact him since he disappeared last year. You can see his blogs last entry was in September of last year.

You can also see his last log in to the Ubuntu forum was also in September of last year. Additionally there are many messages left on his forum page regarding his sudden lack of activity.

If he does resurface he is more than welcome to any projects or positions he held previous to him being MIA. The goal is simply to carry on with the projects he had started.
