request for size extension for repo containing backported Qt5

Asked by Thorsten Glaser

Hi!

For backporting MuseScore (which I have taken over as Debian Developer some time ago) to the previous LTS releases (which users ask for all the time), I have to backport a newer version of Qt5 to trusty (xenial is fine).

It has not yet finished building, and I’m already at 2.4 GiB (although I don’t see what exactly is taking up so much space).

I’ve read some other question here that we can ask for repo size extensions. Is it possible to get one, or should I split the Qt backport off into two separate repositories or so (which might make it harder to use)?

https://launchpad.net/~mirabilos/+archive/ubuntu/mscore is the PPA in question.

Thanks in advance!

Is it possible that the debdiffs between the base release and the package are stored in the repository and accumulate to the space?

Because these are also unnecessarily taking away space (some people might like them, some don’t, and in some cases, they are useless anyway).

In my primary PPA, there’s also the problem (in the openjdk-8 builds there) that the arch:all *-doc_*.deb files from previous uploads are not properly cleaned away when superceded.

No, debdiffs don't contribute to PPA quotas.

I've bumped this PPA's quota to 8 GiB.
