Habari MO files fail to download

Asked by Matt Read

I'm trying to download the MO files for Habari to sync them with our svn repo. the PO files download fine, but MO is all sorts o' fale. I've tried 3 times and it's failed all three times. Any help would be appreciated.

I go to https://translations.launchpad.net/habari/trunk/+pots/habari/+export , check "everything", select "MO Format", click "Request Download". I get an email saying the download has failed, as follows.

> Launchpad encountered problems exporting the files you requested.
> The Launchpad Translations team has been notified of this problem.

It's likely a bug in our system (i.e. something similar to #| bug we recently fixed; i.e. mdke just yesterday reported a problem with some #~ messages causing some problems, or it could be a bug jtv is working on for plural messages).

Henning, we've already received failure notifications for Matt's requests, and I already contacted him about this. This is something for us to investigate.

Matt, can you try generating MO files yourself from the PO files and using that? I.e. if you have GNU gettext tools around, doing "msgfmt -cv -o xx.mo xx.po" should let you get an MO file from downloaded PO file. If you don't have access to GNU gettext tools, we can help out until we fix the bug in the system.

Can you help with this problem?
