git to ppa

If I request a 'code import' and pull in mozilla's git to launchpad can/will it then build deb packages out of the imported code that can be moved into a ppa?

You can use a recipe to do that, though some setup is required and you'll need to supply the packaging rules in the debian/ directory yourself if they aren't already in the upstream source. https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/SourceBuilds

does launchpad automatically pull over 'recipes' if one is available? My builds keep failing... thinking that might be it..

changed a couple things created new recipe still failing...
