How do I order new Linux releases

Asked by Chris

I've just ordered a new Linux Ubuntu CD for my desktop, please can you advise me - will the CD serve more than one computer, and as new Linux 'up to date, latest versions' are released, where can I order them from as opposed to downloading copies? And will Ubuntu connect me with the internet because I tried connecting with Linux Fedora Core 5 (given to me) and I was told it was obsolete and couldn't get on the internet with it. Please can you help me? Thank you for your time.

Hello Chris, you can use the ShipIt service to request Ubuntu CDs. Every new release ShipIt is updated with the latest Ubuntu release and you can come back and request them there. You can use one CD to install Ubuntu on as many computer as you like. You can use Ubuntu (or any modern Linux distribution) to connect to the Internet. Everything should just work out of the box.
