Using launchpad for open source radio drama production

Asked by nise81

I am woundering if its aloud to host the source files of an open radio drama production at launchpad. These sources would consist of short audio files (which are coming under a public domain licence) and an XML-file where the temporal structure of all that audio files will be stored. As development environment a visual programing interface, namely Audacity, will be used.

Will I get into trouble if I would start such a project here?

thx, nise81

Short answer: Yes. As long as it's for the public and benefit of open source & community.

I have a few articles for you to read that should answer your question more in-depth.

https://edge.launchpad.net/+tour/index

"Launchpad is a unique collaboration and hosting platform for software projects. It brings communities together — regardless of their choice of tools — by making it easy to share code, bug reports, translations and ideas across projects."

Longer articles:

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13505_3-10002342-16.html

I hope this helps. We're always here to help if you run into any trouble along the way with the hosting platform itself or source control within Launchpad/Bazaar.

Sincerely,

Craig H.

Hi Craig,

thank you for giving me an answer. I wasn't sure about that issue because its not a real software development project but more ambitious about open media production. So I'll give it a try.

Sincerely,
