Request for more PPA space

Asked by Scott Ritchie

Hi, we're packaging up a free game for Ubuntu called Spring. The engine is compatible with some nonfree user-made mods, however the PPA contains only free content. Some of these, in particular the user-made maps, are very large 3d renders and can take up many megabytes of space.

As such, the PPA has grown to over 3 gigabytes of space. This puts it on par with some of the larger games packages in Ubuntu, where it will be uploaded as part of the distro for Jaunty.

How much space do you think you need?

I'd estimate about 2 gigabytes per release to accommodate the new maps and mods being made, so 6 GB or so for now.

Also, why are ppa size limits absolute rather than per release?

Hey Scott,
increased to 6Gb.
fwiw you already had 5Gb - might have been increased in our recent blitz on increasing those that needed it.

Cheers!
