lp:boost/trunk branch does not follow the whole history

Asked by Ryo IGARASHI

Hi,

Recently, as bazaar 1.11 and bzr-svn 0.5 has been released,
The subversion history for the Boost project (lp:boost)
is imported in launchpad at last.

However, I noticed that I cannot obtain the boost history
before 2007/06/01, probably because
there were structural reorganization of the subversion repository
inside the Boost project at that time.

I know that bzr 1.11 + bzr-svn 0.5 can handle this situation,
since I manually manage the repository of the Boost project
(see lp:~rigarash/boost/trunk and lp:~rigarash/boost/release).

Is it possible to include more history of the subversion tree
of the Boost project in launchpad vcs-import?

The vcs-import branches don't currently use bzr-svn, and branches it creates are not mergeable with bzr-svn imported branches.

We have some future plans to support bzr-svn as an foreign mirror method, but the work isn't yet scheduled.

Since you have some branches now using bzr-svn, I'd suggest making these available as the main boost branches on Launchpad. Not ideal, but I think it is the best short term solution.

Can you help with this problem?
