Looking for project management system - not sure if Launchpad is right?

Asked by Liz Burke

Hi, I'm the tech contact for a community based symphony and chorus. We're looking to improve our tech stack and web offerings. Most of this we're going to do ourselves using open source tools - but we need to organize it in a stable project.

One of the things that we will be working on is our website. There are a couple of things on our website ... nevermind - I think I may have answered my question. I could probably just develop it here, and in a post-deployment phase set up a controlled access properties file that has sensitive information (and would put us in a much better shape than we are today).

Anyway. So my other question is, would a project like ours be ok to have hosted on Launchpad? If not, do you have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Hi Liz,

Really the only requirement we have for hosting projects on Launchpad is that they be open source as defined here

https://help.launchpad.net/Projects/Registering
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/ubuntustory/licensing

We do offer hosting for proprietary projects for a fee, but that doesn't sound like it applies to you.

Since you're using open source tools, if you don't mind making whatever you host on Launchpad open source, then Launchpad will be a great place to host your project.

Can you help with this problem?
