Bulk import of bugs via flat file (.csv, .tab, .xls, etc.)

Asked by Ben Mehling

I'm sorry if this is a dupe, I searched in a number of places, including the help site, but cannot even find a question on this topic.

Can we bulk import bugs into LP from a flat file? I.e., I have a spreadsheet (exported) from an internal tracker (SF Enterprise). I want to import this data into LP's bug module as a one time, bulk operation. Is this possible? I can munge this data into whatever format is required, but at this point I don't see a way to do this.

Many thanks,

We do have a bug interchange XML schema. If you put your data into that format we can then import it for you. I can send you a copy of the schema if you like.

Graham-

Yes please. Well munge our flat file into the proper schema. How do I get you the file (or request the import) once we have the file prepared? I assume this isn't something you want to continually do, so we'll try to get all our bugs requiring importation in at once. A self-service method is probably on your long list of todos... Thanks.

Can this schema for bug import be found anywhere on LP itself, or should I just wait for an email? Thanks!

It's not available through LP itself, AFAIK. I'll send it to you today.

Can you help with this problem?
