Remove Translations

Hi Alex,

Could you explain why you wish to have these translations deleted from Launchpad? A lot of people have done considerable work translating your project so I am hesitant to delete their work without asking you first. I hope you understand.

Sure. The translation files there were always incomplete and actually never used within the project. It is only now (in the upcoming 2.3 series) that our project has full support for i18n, and so we can start properly using translations with launchpad.

Unless we can work something out to keep some of the translated strings for the ones I will shortly import, then IMO removing them is best. However, I am unsure if any of the language files uploaded have any of the language strings that we use now.

Just a note, I've uploaded some new .pot files for the 'trunk' series of TangoCMS - so ideally they should stay, and all others removed.

I don't know much about how translations work, but I believe the translated strings are free to be used by other projects, so they shouldn't just be deleted--maybe just disassociated from your project? I've assigned this question to someone on the translations team who can figure out what needs to be done, and can either do it or pass the question along to the admins.

Just wondering if there is an update on this =) To confirm - we want to *keep* the trunk translations, remove all others.

maybe we were a bit slow to understand, here ...;-) I deactivated the remaining template for the 2.0-chipmunk series which effectively removes those translations from the page (not from the database, though). I think this is what you have been asking for.
