Expired bugs don't disappear?

Asked by Jacek Sieka

Hi,

My project has a few bugs in the incomplete status that haven't been touched for a long time, and the expire bugs setting in the project settings is checked.

Now for the old bug it says for example "This bug report was marked for expiration 95 days ago" but the bug remains in the "incomplete" status and shows up in the bug list...I would expect these bugs to disappear or at least be searchable in some way but I can't find an option for that - so what does the expire feature do, apart from adding the above quoted message to the bug?

(here's an example of such a bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+bug/231620)

Thanks,
Jacek

Jacek,

The incomplete bugs are marked as eligible for expiration but it looks like the Bug Janitor has not cleaned them up. I have asked to find out the status of that process and will report back what I find out.

Hi,
Thanks for looking into it - my bugs still aren't expiring so I guess something's fishy...

The script doing the expiration has never been re-activated after the first hiccups that happened on its initial deployment. There are couple of issues that I think the team wants fixed before re-enabling bug expiration.

I've filed a bug to track the re-enablement of the script.
