Why does Launchpad barrage you with emails? My inbox gets fat on the amount of emails Launchpad gives me.

Joe, you're a member of the TangoCMS Bugs team, which is subscribed to all TangoCMS bugs, so you get a message each time any of those changes. If you don't want this, you could leave that team.

I've reported bug 110953 on providing an easy way to see all the things you're subscribed to.

However, I'm needed on the TangoCMS bugs team, I'm a key tester.

The problem is that Launchpad has no configuration options for the email automatically sent to you.

Joe, I suggest that you file a different question if you consider that one solved.

In short, the current wait to handle email configuration IS team membership. If you need some privilege associated with being a member of the team, but do not want to receive the email, then a different team should be created to separate those privileges from the email subscriptions.
