My earlier posting re VLC/TOTEM problem doesn't show

Having posted my problem with Real Player etc, I could find no posting of my previous question re problem with VLC & TOTEM, identical with Real Time i.e. the players do not work, whereas when I switch back to windows and use the same software, everything works fine. So, am a mite puzzled ...

Could you tell us a bit more what you did (or tried to do)?

- Did you file a bug, (via the Launchpad interface or by sending an email)?
- If you file a bug: for which which Launchpad project?
- Or did you send a message to a mailing list?
- If so, on which mailing list?

Hi There:
Thanks for the prompt response.
I reported my problem on Launchpad.
My laptop (Acer) is dual-boot: Ubuntu & Windows XP. Have had no problems
until I installed Intrepid and as my posting explains, none on my DVD
players work in Ubuntu - they load distorted bits and pieces with lots
of noise - whereas I can access my player on Windows with no difficulty.
If my hardware was faulty, I wouldn't be able to do the latter. So....I
am sorely puzzled.

Sorry, but where exactly did you report your problem?

If you can't remember, I'd suggest that you file again a bug report here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+filebug .
