my IP blacklisted (please whitelist)

Asked by Foppe Hemminga on 2008-12-07

Due to an error in the Speeddial Firefox plugin (see http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=540112&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=360 for details on this bug) there has been a lot of traffic to the Launchpad site. This resulted in a blacklist of my IP. I can visit every main page of every project, but receive a 403 permission error on every subsequent page.
I disabled the plugin and notified the author of the problem.
Please whitelist my IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) so I can work with Launchpad again.

I think a conversation with an administrator is needed to understand the connection between the Indonesian and Neatherlands' locations in the routing.

Thanks for your answer.
Since I am answering from my own machine it looks like this problem has solved itself (was not this afternoon).

Foppe mentioned on #launchpad that the problem isn't actually solved yet, and that now he is unable to visit the answers pages.

Thanks, Wouter.
Unfortunately I found the problem still isn't solved. My IP is 125.162.91.142. I'm currently using Tor to get to these pages :|

We aren't explicitly blocking the IP address 125.162.91.142 in any of our web server configuration files. Can you give me an example of a URL that you're getting a 403 error for, and a time (in UTC) that you visited it, so I can check the log files for you?

Thanks, Tom

Sorry, should have been a request for information...

I was hoping this issue would solve itself over time. Unfortunately it hasn't so if anyone can shed some light that would be appreciated.
I cannot view any launchpad.net page other than some primary main pages of projects. However I *can* view nearly all pages in edge.launchpad.net so that's currently my work around. As far as I can tell it's related to my IP. From any other PC I can happily login and view pages. The error is a 403: Permisssion denied.
Thanks

This one was solved when I re-installed Karmic. I removed all hidden folders in /home/ including .mozilla. After opening launchpad in Firefox I was nolonger blocked. My guess is there's some cooky issue. But I'm still puzzled because I used this laptop on other networks and could enter LP, suggesting my IP was involved. Also I'm pretty sure it started after the Speeddial issue mentioned in my original post.
Glad it's solved now.
