Bug auto link to external bug tracker

Asked by Mike Lischke

When a bug number is found in a commit message Launchpad automatically links that to its own bug system. However, I set the bug tracker to be at an external location so of course I would like to link those bug numbers to the proper reports in my bug tracker (doesn't make sense to auto-link them to launchpad itself, as these are not related at all). How can I specify which link to use for this auto-link-to-bug-report?

Hi Mike,

I didn't know it until you asked, but this is a known issue, bug #235908, which was private (I just changed that) so no wonder you had to ask a question about it.

There is interest in fixing this - including from me - and my feeling is that it won't be too difficult. Most of the other moving parts are already in place.
