Create Launchpad Translators

Asked by Adi Roiban on 2008-11-05

I have started a discussion on the launchpad-users and ubuntu-translators mailing list with goal of finding a way to make Launchpad less Ubuntu dependent by having a "Launchpad Translators" group that generic project could use rather than "Ubuntu Translators"

Here is an email from the archive:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-translators/2008-October/001865.html

Can you create that group?

I don't know details about groups managment and administration and I think we can talked them here.

Kind regards,
Adi

Hi Adi -- thanks for suggesting this. As you know, I am quite eager to go through with this. I am just checking if everybody else is as well, and if they are, this is exactly what we'll do. :)

OK. No hurry. I have just add this request here as I think this is the oficial starting point and otherwise I will forget about it.

Also I just want to have a working Ubuntu Translators groups that projects could use instead of Ubuntu Translators and is not that I want to be the admin for that group.

I don't know how hard it is, but maybe the people from "Ubuntu Translation Coordinator" could help starting this new team.

Kind regards,
Adi

Can we schedule a session at UDS for talking about how we should manage and promote this new group?

Should we create a blueprint?

We've added a blueprint https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/rosetta/+spec/launchpad-translators-group and proposed it for UDS Jaunty sprint. Not sure how scheduling a session works there, but I'll make sure to figure that out.

Can you help with this problem?
