Ubuntu CoC won't accept signature

Asked by Drew Meigs

I registered my pgp (gpg) key with Ubuntu and Launchpad without any problems. And I downloaded the code of conduct without any problems. However, I followed the instructions on the "Sign It" page to the letter and it refuses to accept the document as signed. When I enter everything (and I do enter EVERYthing from the document via copy/paste), it says something along the lines of "7,9, no public key." I have no idea what that means or if I am doing something wrong. I just know it isn't accepting my signature. Please advise? I am running Ubuntu 8.10 if that has any relevance. Thank you.

I'm not sure how, but this document helped someone else with the same problem (https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/28415).

Give it a try and see if it works. Otherwise, your best bet is to put details of the problem into bug 211830:

I have no idea why this worked as it doesn't seem different from what I have been doing all along. Either way, it looks like everything is good now. Thank you for your help.
