Fix Committed bug status question

Asked by Krzysztof Kosinski

We're having a discussion in the Inkscape project how to use the bug tracker to get all the information we need. The main idea is to use "Fix Committed" if something is fixed in SVN and "Fix Released" if it's in the official release (currently we use fix released for both). There are however some caveats.

When putting out a release, we want to flip all bugs fixed in that release to fix released automatically. However, we don't want to flip bugs which are only fixed in SVN and not in the frozen release branch. We also don't want to manually milestone all fixed bugs. Ideally, when creating the release branch, it should inherit the bug statuses of the trunk. How to do that?

Currently we use Sourceforge SVN for code hosting and mirror it in Bazaar, in case it's relevant.

There is no way to do that automatically, though you may be able to write a script which uses the Launchpad web service API to change the status of the relevant bugs based on your code hosting scenario.

Can you help with this problem?
