Translation imported only partially

Asked by Nicolas Vervelle

Hi,

I am trying to upload translation for the Jmol project, in the trunk, at https://translations.launchpad.net/jmol/trunk/+translations
The last upload (and the previous one a few days ago) is imported only partially for the Template jmol : for each language, only a few translations are correctly uploaded, deleting most of the translations.

I was working correctly until a few days ago.

Thanks for any help

Nico

I suppose it's possible that some translations were imported to the wrong template. You can check that as follows: go to one of the translations that have become empty, and request a download. When you get the download email, get the translation file and look at the bottom. If translations got confused between the two templates, you will see a long list of translated messages there that have been marked obsolete (with the "#~" comment marker) because their msgids occurred in the translation but not in the template.

This could be an instance of bug 187410. If so, it may be wise to rename the files a bit. For instance, you could rename them to "jmol" and "applet." (The lower-case names are a convention; I'm not sure off the top of my head whether it will make a difference).

Apparently, the problem has been solved but I haven't changed anything on my side : the number of strings translated in the jmol is now correct for all languages without any new imports since I opened this report. I opened this report when some files when already imported incorrectly and some were still waiting to be imported, but everything seems fine now.

Thanks
