Please register register the pms team as one of the Ubuntu Translators Team

Asked by Bèrto 'd Sèra

Hi!

We have started Ubuntu (8.10) localization for pms (Piemontese). Will you please register our team?

Our page is: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-pms

ISO 639-3 code: pms
Plurals: only female names have plurals in pms, so it's not many, the usual structure for romance languages will be fine, although most of the time we won't need it at all. There is no neuter, apart from fossilised expressions that pose no real variant.

Thanks!
Bèrto

PS: Can you point me to a resource helping me in using diacritics in keyboard layouts? We need two chars R̂ L̂ that I can only make by using the added diacritics (0x004C;0x0302; and 0x0052;0x0302;) but I cannot seem to find the right syntax to do it properly.

This seems to be made up of three separate requests: setting up plurals information for the Piedmontese language, registering a translation group, and help with input methods. The first is for my team, but we already set up Piedmontese a long time ago. The third depends on your system, so is best answered by searching or asking in forums specific to that system. Assigning to Arne for the middle one.

Hello,

What's the status of this question? Does it still require work?

Thanks,

Matthew.

I've emailed David Planella about it (to add the team to Ubuntu translation group).

You should see an answer to the question, and https://translations.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-pms will show the team as part of Ubuntu Translators group (eg. see how it looks like on https://translations.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-sr).

Bèrto,

I've appointed the Piemontese team as responsible for the Ubuntu translations into Piemontese. You should now see it listed at https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/+groups/ubuntu-translators, and this should also be visible at https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-pms, where the team will show up as being part of the Ubuntu translators group.

You can find out more information on translation groups and teams here -> https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/Groups?action=show&redirect=Translations%2FTranslationGroups

Additionally, I would recommend you to:

* Subscribe to the ubuntu-translators mailing list in order to be kept up-to-date with everything related to Ubuntu translations -> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

* Set up a mailing list for coordinating your team (You can do it directly on Launchpad, on your team's page -> https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-pms)

* Add a link to the guidelines used for translating into Piemontese -> https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/+groups/ubuntu-translators/pms/+edit

I hope you enjoy translating Ubuntu!

Regards,
David.
