Widelands bug tracker import

Asked by SirVer

Hi,

the widelands project would like to import bug trackers from sf.net
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=40163

Are those tracker kept in sync with sf.nets or are this one time imports only? Does the sync work in both directions?

Greetings,
Holger

Hi Holger,

If you're planning to move your Widelands' bug tracking from SF to Launchpad, we may be able to help with a one-time import, to help you make the move.

Right now, we're not able to perform a continuous import from Sourceforge to Launchpad. You can, though, link bug reports in LP to bug reports in SF.

Thanks,

Matthew.

We have a big problem with SourceFourge's trackers. Logged-in users are not allowed to attach files (patches) to tracker items. And SourceForge enforces this on all trackers of all projects to protect against SPAM (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200001&aid=2568036&group_id=1)! But we would really like to get patches from people, even if they are neither already in our team or the first person to report a particular wish or bug. So The SourceForge tracker does not work for us. This causes a need to get away from SourceForge.

Another problem with the SourceForge tracker is that it is not possible to mark an issue as a duplicate of another (particular issue, just as a duplicate in general). Therefore we have a lot of manually written comments like "Duplicate of #1234567." (one on each bug that is marked as a duplicate). Can the Launchpad import understand such things?

On SourceForge we also miss the blocks/depends-on relationship between tracker items that we are used to from using Bugzilla on other projects.

Some documentation about SourceForge tracker import would be useful.

Can you help with this problem?
