suggestion for implementing a better site-search

Asked by blanderer

Good evening @all,

I am missing some features in the project search for example search for projects made in an specific programming language or under a specific Open-Source-Licence like Sourceforge.net do.
As an explanation, if I seach for an liberary under the LGPL licence and the programming language C#, I have to put some filter in sourceforge.net and get this what I am looking for.

I there any possibility to filter or to put some search strings into the launchpad site-search to do this?
In my opinion it would be a great matter if this would be implemented.

regards

Karl

You could try to add the appropriate string to the Launchpad site-widge search.

(For example, GPL for GPL project, C# for programming language, etc.)

Apart from the License, all registry information is in free-form format, so not really useful from a categorization perspective.

You might also consider filing a bug for your use case. You can do so by using 'Create bug report' item.
