bazaar launchpad username is wrong/not clear

Asked by edA-qa

The Bazaar in five minutes guide indicates you use your "Launchpad" username to access the system. Either this is an error, or it is not clear what my username actually is.

In my case my display name, what I believe my account name is, is "edA-qa", yet to get access via bazaar I needed to user the lowercase version "eda-qa".

This should be made clear in the documentation -- perhaps a sample publish link for a project, including the username, as Google Code does.

You account name is always lowercase. What URL is the document you were looking at?

I guess the doc I was looking it wasn't actually hosted here, it is at the Bazaar site:

http://doc.bazaar-vcs.org/bzr.dev/en/mini-tutorial/index.html

My concern is that other than in the URL of some pages, there is nowhere visible in any page at Launchpad what my "username" is. You login with an email and all you ever see is a display name (with capitalization). Perhaps "username" could also be indicated somewhere -- this is mainly to help people who wish to use Bazaard/LP I guess.

If you click the "edit" button on your person page (which can be reached by clicking your name in the top right of any page) you can see the account name.

I would agree that the account name should probably be shown on your person page, and we should probably make sure there is a consistent term for this. "Name" is not so good, it suggests it means your real name your mother calls you.

Can you help with this problem?
