please convert project Bhaktivedanta Jyotish (bvj) into project group

Asked by Saša Janiška

Hello!

I've one humble request...

I'd like to convert Bhaktivedanta Jyotish (bvj) project into project group because it will consist of separate modules which will be released separately, like language-bindings for C-library, several core-libraries and different plugins.

At the moment I registered Bhaktivedanta Jyotish (bvj) as a project with the Bhaktivedanta Jyotish Team (bvjt), so please promote 'bvj' project into project group or create Bhaktivedanta Jyotish project group and remove the present Bhaktivedanta Jyotish project and then I'll register new related projects.

Sincerely,
Gour

p.s. As far as I can from other responses in similar tasks, you require URLs of the sub-projects, but I asked on #launchpad and andrea-bs sent me a draft of new FAQ where it is stated:

"You can include also the URLs of the sub-projects to link or, if you prefer, you can link them once the group has been created." (see https://help.launchpad.net/FAQ/Draft1#How do I create a project group?)

I've need for several sub-projects, but prefer top-bottom approach and consider it more logical than bottom-top.

So, can you create sub-project without sub-projects?

OK, but projects can't be converted to project groups. They need to be
created from scratch.

The reason sub-projects are requested is to vet whether or not the
project group request is reasonable. You don't need to register them
beforehand, but you do need to at least give me some information on a
handful: names and descriptions help.

Thanks for pointing out the incorrect FAQ, I'll update it.

Yes, now I'm aware of it. :-)

OK. Here it is(I'm not 100% sure about the names.

1) Haskell bindings for Swiss Ephemeris library to be used for BVJ application.

2) (Core) libraries (in Haskell) handling all kind of astrological calculations used in BV application.

3) (External) plugins (in Haskell) for BVJ application.

Is it enough for now?

Gour

Hi!

I forgot to say, that I am aware that in order to create project group, the present Bhaktivedanta Jyotish project has to be removed, so, pls. do that as well.

Sincerely,
Gour

Since you haven't registered the subprojects yet, it's best to reuse the existing project, https://edge.launchpad.net/bvj , as one of the subprojects you will use in the project group. I can rename it for you. I think this is the best approach in particular because there are branches and answers filed against it.

I've registered a group at https://edge.launchpad.net/bvj-group -- it can be renamed later as well. It's yours.
