How can I obtain the authorization in translating instead of suggesting

Asked by EAdam

I'm a new member of Launchpad and I wanna contribute to the translation process. However I can only make suggestions and maybe two days later some of my suggestions disappear.Should I meet any standards or something to get the authorization to be a "real" translator?

Hi,

Here is a short introduction to launchpad translation
https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/StartingToTranslate

What translate Ubuntu in any language you must first be a member of a translation team.

Translation teams are assigned for each language.

So for example if you want to translate in french and german you must be part of the german and french translation teams.

Also each translation page contains in the footer the team assigned to translate it.

For example here
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/atomix/+pots/atomix/ro/+translate

you can see at the bottom the following text:

-------
This translation is managed by Ubuntu Romanian Localization, assigned by ubuntu-translators.

You have full access to this translation.

Contributors to this translation: Adi Roiban, Adrian Stratulat, Bogdan PAUN, Ionuț Jula, Mircea Petrea.
-----

Each team has different standars and you must talk with the team coordinator.
