new french canadian translation team

Asked by David Giard

Hi, i just created an ubuntu-l10n-fr-ca team and i was told i had to ask someone here to set the team up to translate ubuntu.

i also want to ask if the team will have to translate everything or we can just modify the part different from the ubuntu-l10n-fr team?

I added the team to the "French (Canada)" translations.
You just need to modify those strings which differ from "French" and use "French" as a guide.

Ok, thank you!

Now, i suppose i have to way until the translation focus switch to 8.10 in https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu, right?

I mean, i can't see "French (Canada)" on that page.

Davin, where is the French Canadian language? I can not find it in the list of available languages for Hardy. https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu

It's there, it's just not listed because it's not marked as an active language. You can still access it though: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+lang/fr_CA

We generally avoid splitting languages by region, because it risks spreading the translation effort too thin.
