Account with no longer valid email address

I used launchpad with an old account that i deactivated, that account was registered with an email address (<email address hidden>) that is no longer valid and i can't use.

Now i have registered a new account in launchpad (https://answers.launchpad.net/~dcordero) with my new email address and i can't use my gpg fingerprint because is "being using" by the old deactivated account.

I'd like the old account were deleted.

gladly - but what's the old account? I can't seem to find it - accepting that this could be pebkac on my part. :-)

Hi David,

this seems to be a little broken somewhere. I've assigned to kiko (Hi kiko!) as he may have better ideas on a possible solution than my apparently feeble attempts.

Kiko: my next thought would be to merge the accounts; but given the breakages I'm seeing with the deactivated account, suspect I could make things worse. ???

If it make it easiest, you could reactive my old account but changing the email address and delete my new account where i haven't anything.
