vcs-import of scipy

Asked by Jarrod Millman

The vcs-import of the scipy trunk keeps failing. Here is the scipy trunk vcs-import branch:
https://code.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/scipy/trunk

Here is the scipy subversion trunk:
http://svn.scipy.org/svn/scipy/trunk

I have created a svn dump of the entire scipy repo (trunk, tags, branches), which is available here:
https://cirl.berkeley.edu/jarrod/scipy.dump.bz2

Could you import from the scipy dump and then have vcs-imports track the incremental updates from the subversion server (http://svn.scipy.org/svn/scipy/trunk)?

Thanks,
Jarrod

Hello,

Sorry to be a bother. But the SciPy annual conference is starting next week and I was hoping to announce the launchpad hosted bzr branch. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help get this going. If I need to direct this inquiry elsewhere that would be useful to know.

Thanks,
Jarrod

Well, I tried, but the bug I just linked to this question stopped it :/

Jarrod, would you be okay with using one of the alternative import procedures described in https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/launchpad-bazaar/+faq/24 ?

I'm able to branch the trunk using bzr-svn 0.5.2 and bzr 1.13dev (r4044). ``bzr branch http://svn.scipy.org/svn/scipy/trunk scipy-trunk-bzr`` was all it took. I've pushed that branch to Launchpad at lp:~nmb/scipy/trunk-20090227. Is it possible to use such a branch as the basis of a mirror of the trunk on Launchpad?

Launchpad's VCS imports actually use https://launchpad.net/launchpad-cscvs , not bzr-svn.

Of course, you can always set up your own mirror using bzr-svn. :-)

Can you help with this problem?
