Inkscape: lots of spam bug reports (current wave)

Asked by Hachmann on 2016-09-24

Spammers are currently posting lots of spam bug reports in the Inkscape project.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bugs?orderby=-date_last_updated&start=0

Please deactivate the accounts (and couldn't a spam filter be added? Or something that filters out identical bug reports made directly after one another?). I'm not going to invalidate the reports right now, because the wave is still ongoing, and I have no inclination to have a battle with a spammer.

Thank you!

There is a spam filter in place, and it's catching the vast, vast majority of the spam (but we can't discuss the specifics publicly -- some of our resident spammers have been known to snoop on such things... hi guys, please stop, you can't win!).

When things (like the three accounts whose Inkscape bugs survived) slip through the cracks, it's best to just leave the spam alone and report it here like you have. We'll deal with it and update the automated systems to more effectively defend against it.

So, I've cleaned up all the missed bugs that I could find. Please let us know if any more shows up!
